Handy hints on shoooting and submitting your video
- Best format for uploading: 3GP, MPEG, AVI, FLV
- Maximum length: 60 seconds
- Try to keep your camera as still as possible
- Try leaning against an object to steady your camera
- Keep shaking to a minimum
- When shooting indoors turn on as many lights as possible
- When shooting outdoors keep the sun above or at the side, this will prevent the background from being to bright
- Avoid shooting in a place that has high contrast such as sunlight and shadows
- Avoid shooting in direct sunlight
- Try to use a light-coloured background
- Beware of windows in the background
- Remove all clutter from the background
- The closer the shot the better - it`s hard to see a face on a small screen
- Avoid too much pans and movement
- Good audio quality is very important
- Shoot from different angles to determine the best view
- Avoid zooming, walk in closer /li>
- Frame your subject properly
- Think about what`s going to look good visually
- Ensure that there is no background noise
- If filming someone standing, don`t cut them off at the knees . make sure their entire body is in the shot
- For a head shot ensure that there`s an equal amount of space above and below the head
- Let action happen inside the frame, don`t constantly move the camera
- Focus on the main subject, don`t worry about depth of field
- Don`t walk with the camera
- Ensure not to cut off the beginning or the end of the clip
- Know all the functions and controls of your camera
- Record a few takes and select the best one
- Relax and give your best performance!
